Biography

Dr. Abdullah Al-Faruk received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh in the year of 2008. He secured first merit position out of over a hundred graduated students in that year and selected for the Bangladesh University Grant Commission scholarship for the best overall result in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Just after getting his B.Sc. Degree, he joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Khulna, Bangladesh, and served for just over three years. He then moved to Australia for a postgraduate study where he received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.

    He was entitled to the prestigious International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) and Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) of the Australian government. After completing his Ph.D., he returns back to Bangladesh and joined as an Assistant Professor in KUET. Currently, he works as an Associate Professor at the same institution. He teaches Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics, Computer Programming courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is actively involved in research projects and published several quality papers in esteemed international journals.

    Flow separation control in aerodynamic flows, drag reduction and lift enhancement in airfoil and wing, the aerodynamics of wind rotors, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis of engineering elements, energy extraction from renewable sources are his research interest.
