Edoardo Rubino

Assistant Professor

University of Wisconsin

Dr. Rubino has a background in Aeronautical Engineering. During his studies to obtain a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in this field from the University of Palermo, Italy, he worked for the Italian Air force and for the Italian Space Agency. After obtaining the master’s degree, he moved to the United States to work for the Italian Consulate in Houston. His research path started a little after, when he was accepted for the Ph.D. program at Southern Methodist University, Dallas (TX). During his doctoral studies, he worked on several projects including the development of optical sensors, material characterization, and wind tunnel design. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the faculty of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. As a faculty member, he is still working on the development of optical sensors and material characterization. In addition, he initiated a project for energy harvesting with piezoelectric materials. To date, he authored 7 conference proceedings and 7 journal articles with 57 citations.
