Biography

Hao Zhang studied hydraulic engineering and energy power engineering and completed his doctorate at the Northwest A&F University. He held a lectureship at the Xi’an University of Technology, as well as a postdoctoral position at the university.

He served as an invited reviewer to a number of international journals, including Energy Conversion and Management, Renewable Energy, ISA Transactions, etc. He also contributed in various ways to the renewable energy production and conversion that received the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.51622906; No. 51479173) in 2017 and 2015.

His main research direction includes Hydraulic machinery engineering, Nonlinear dynamics, Mathematical modeling, and simulation. He made a great contribution to the accurate modeling and operating stability of hydropower stations and pumped storage power stations. The achievements have been published on Energy Conversion and Management, Renewable Energy, Nonlinear Dynamics, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing. Four of the articles become the 1% pre-cited paper in ESI engineering.

He has extensive international cooperation in the academic field. He has conducted in-depth cooperation with Professor George from Lancaster University and Associate Professor Patelli from the University of Liverpool in the field of dynamic modeling and stability analysis of pumped storage power plants. Cooperated with Professor Wu from Curtin University in Australia on nonlinear dynamic analysis of hydroelectric power generation systems. So far, 4 Top Journal papers have been published in collaboration.
